Belize dares you to put adventure on the agenda. Will you take on that dare?
“Belize is like a relationship: filled with sometimes difficult passages that are a precursor to moments of extraordinary beauty.”
Pat Benatar says “love is a battlefield,” but we are more inclined to think that love is an adventure; a side-by-side journey of exploration. We know, we know: it is hard to see your relationship that way when you’re stuck in a routine that you can’t figure out how to break. But we’re here to give you a little push.
And this push takes us South of the Border to Belize.
A tiny gem of a country in Central America, Belize is like a relationship: filled with sometimes difficult passages that are a precursor to moments of extraordinary beauty. It’s a place where you two can dive in, drink each other up, and push your boundaries, together.
All it takes is a little trust, a little risk, and an adventurous spirit. So let’s get at it...
Belize is for (adventurous) lovers.
Belize dares you to put adventure on the agenda, and we dare you to, too. Sure, you can lounge on the beach all day, reading a good book and sipping local coconut-infused cocktails. It’s a great way to shed the stresses and distractions that you (hopefully) left at home.
But once your shoulders relax away from your ears, and you are in-the-moment enough to be startled by the beauty of your person’s eyes (how could you have forgotten?), it’s time to shake things up.
Journey together by sea…
Hop on a boat to Shark Ray Alley near Ambergris Cay, where you can snorkel between your love and a school of nurse sharks. The sharks don’t bite, but perhaps give your person a nibble just for fun. If you’re looking for a more “deserted island” feel, charter a boat and guide for a day and explore some of the thousands of hidden beaches in the Belize cays.
...and on land.
Back on the mainland, the Belizean jungle crooks its finger seductively to draw you into its depths. It’ll be a shock to the system after the shining beauty of the coast, but we all know the power of a dark mystery. Channel Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood with a tandem zip line through the tree canopy, or a tube float through the subterranean passages of Nohoch Che'en, the largest cave system in Central America.
If the day ends with steamy love scene (à la Indiana and Marion), all the better, right?
“Belize’s wild beauty can set the stage, but the adventure belongs entirely to you and your person.”
Belize is for (adventurous) lovers at night, too.
It’s a rare spot where you can sleep in a hammock over a calm ocean one night and be climbing into a secluded treehouse in the jungle the next. But if you haven’t already noticed, Belize is a place for play.
So, bring your own by unpacking your favorite toys for two.
Set the mood with a candle and relax into the evening with a glass of wine. Put to bed the day’s adventures by tasting the salt on your love’s neck or massaging the knots out of their zip line tense shoulders.
Whisper to them about the moment that morning where the only thing keeping you from undressing them slowly was the lingering room service delivery guy.
Play with each other. Let the explorations of the day guide the explorations of the night.
Soak it in.
Belize’s wild beauty can set the stage, but the adventure belongs entirely to you two. Let the electric blue of the sea enchant you, the depths of the jungle seduce you, and your connection bind it all together.
You’re ready for this adventure, by day and by night. Go ahead. We dare you.
