Three easy ways to help you get your best on paper.
Now that you have a love note, what are you supposed to write? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered…
Sweet little gestures can go a long way, and sometimes if we’re lucky—they can help us go the distance. Handwritten love notes are only a lost art if we let them be—and, we don’t recommend that. Whether you’ve got a plan up your sleeve, or just want to give your love a case of the butterflies, putting it in a love note is a special (sexy) way to say and show that you care. A lot.
But we get it, not all of us have an inner-poet, so here’s a little love note cheat sheet to help you get your best on paper.
Here are three easy ways to craft a love note your lover will love:
- Open with something other than Dear...try something like: To my love, lover, dream girl or guy...”
- Let them know three things that they do that turn you on, or that you notice that are extra special to you.
- Tell them something that you can’t wait to do with them, maybe it’s as sweet as “grow old together,” or as spicy as, “kissing you all over the next time I see you.”
And then, if you really want to get down to business...
Below are a few prompts for your inspiration:
- I can’t stop thinking about the way you looked (insert specific moment), I sometimes can’t believe how lucky I am.
- I don’t want you to ever forget how much I adore this (insert specific trait), (insert specific trait), and (insert specific trait) about you. But just to be sure, here it is in writing.
- What I love most about you is...
- It drives me crazy (in the good way) when you…
- When we’re apart, this is what I miss most about you…
- You give me butterflies when…
- If we were together right now, this is what I’d do…
Once you’re done, seal it with a kiss and be prepared for whatever comes next. We recommend putting a “gone fishing!” sign on your door and putting your phone on airplane mode—the effects can be instantaneous...
